About James Gritz Photography

James has been traveling and making photographs for the last four decades. His specialties include underwater, wildlife and travel, editorial and fine art photography. His work speaks of the essence of place and his portraits poignantly communicate the diversity of the human condition. James Gritz currently resides in Boulder, Colorado. He has photographed extensively in India, Nepal, Cambodia, Ladakh, Tibet, Africa, Mexico, Galapagos, Borneo, Belize, and Europe as well, among other places.

CURRENT PROJECTS

Documentary Film

James is in the final stage of editing a film he co-directed with Fernanda Rivero call "Never Give Up - The Heart of Compassion" It should be released in early 2012

James has been working in India and Nepal and Tibet since 1998. The work India is primarily related to sacred sites and pilgrimage. The work in Tibet was in conjunction with a film project on the Nangchen nuns and Khampa people of eastern Tibet.
